Exam Pattern:

The exam pattern will be as follows:

  • The exam will be of objective type.
  • There will be a paper of 200 questions in the preliminary written examination.
  • Each question will be of 200 marks.
  • The time duration will be of three hours.
  • The questions in the paper will be of objective nature and will be set in English, Telugu and Urdu languages.

Comment: The minimum marks to be secured by the candidates to qualify in the preliminary written examination paper is 30% for all categories i.e. OC/ BC/ SC/ ST/ Ex. Servant.

The syllabus for the preliminary written examination will be as follows:

  1. English*
  2. arithmetic
  3. general Science
  4. History of India, Indian Culture, Indian National Movement
  5. Principles of Geography, Indian Geography, Polity and Economy
  6. Current events of national and international importance
  7. Reasoning / Mental Ability Test
  8. Contents related to Telangana State.

*The questions relating to English language in the syllabus will be set in English only in Telugu/Urdu versions of the question paper.

Comment: In case of any dispute with respect to any question or answer, the decision taken by the Subject Expert Committee shall be final. The Board does not prescribe any particular textbook or publication and is not bound by the material appearing in any book or publication.

Physical Efficiency Test and Physical Measurement

The candidates who qualify in the above preliminary written examination will have to undergo the following tests and qualify as specified below:

1600m / 800m Run Event: Male candidates must have passed the 1600 meter race within a maximum of 7 minutes 15 seconds. The maximum time for Ex-Servicemen is 9 minutes 30 seconds. Female candidates must have passed 800 meters race within a maximum of 5 minutes 20 seconds.

When conducting the 1600m and 800m run events where RFID based readings are taken, the contestants perform completely independent of each other. As a result, the start-time, finishing-time and duration are automatically entered individually for each contestant. However, wherever necessary, only the winding-start (not staggered-start) method in which the contestants can change lanes immediately after the start will be adopted. All digitally recorded readings will be mathematically rounded to 2 decimal places to determine merit/disqualification and also gradation.

Physical Measurements: Candidates qualifying in the above run event must meet the following requirements:

Male: Height: Should not be less than 167.6 cms
Female: Height: Should not be less than 152.5 cms

Provided that, candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribes and Tribal Tribes in the agency areas of the districts of Adilabad, Komarambhim-Asifabad, Mancherial, Nagarkurnool, Khammam, Bhadradri-Kothagudem, Mulugu, Mahabubabad and Warangal districts should satisfy the following requirements:

Male: Height: Should not be less than 160 cms
Female: Height: Should not be less than 150 cms

Long Jump/Shot Put Event: Candidates declared qualified in physical measurement as above will have to go through the remaining PET events and will have to qualify as per the details given below:

Comment: Physical Efficiency Tests are qualifying in nature,

Final Written Examination (FWE):

Candidates qualifying in the above mentioned physical efficiency test will be required to appear for the final written test.

Exam Pattern:

The exam pattern will be as follows:

  • The exam will be of objective type.
  • There will be a paper of 200 questions in the preliminary written examination.
  • Each question will be of 200 marks.
  • The time duration will be of three hours.
  • The questions in the paper will be of objective nature and will be set in English, Telugu and Urdu languages.

Comment: The minimum marks to be obtained by the candidates to qualify in the final written examination is 40% for OC, 35% for BC and 30% for SC/ ST/ Ex-Servicemen.

Exam Syllabus:

The syllabus for the final written examination will be as follows:

  1. English*
  2. arithmetic
  3. general Science
  4. History of India, Indian Culture, Indian National Movement
  5. Principles of Geography, Indian Geography, Polity and Economy
  6. Current events of national and international importance
  7. Reasoning / Mental Ability Test
  8. Personality Test (Questions will be from ethics, gender and sensitivity towards weaker sections, social awareness, emotional intelligence)
  9. Contents related to Telangana State

*The questions related to English language in the syllabus will be set in English only in Telugu/Urdu versions of the question paper.
